What’s going on

I finally started working at Delia*s and it has truly been a blessing. Out of the three fellow newbie fashion reps I’ve met, they all know someone that goes to Liberty. Of course I don’t know who they are, but it’s cool to see the great things people have heard about a Christian school. 🙂

I have a problem with working on Sundays, I’ll admit it. But the problem isn’t with working on Sundays in general, it is working while I SHOULD be at church with my fellow brothers and sisters praising and growing in our Heavenly Father. Anyways, I’ve realized that every time I DO work on Sundays, I find myself asking God to forgive me. It’s kind of weird because when I think about it: God provided me with the job, He was the one who gave me the hours on Sundays, He has a reason as to WHY He chose to have me work on a Sunday – but even still, I feel my heart breaking for not being where it is I know I should be. Besides asking for forgiveness, I ask to be of good testimony to my co-workers. We’ll see what God has planned for me at Delia*s this summer. I have a feeling it’ll be interesting. 🙂

I’ve been trying to keep up with the FIFA World Cup and so far…. not bad. Though I must say it is kind of disappointing that a lot of the games were ending in ties… I somehow found that disappointing, unless it meant that whatever country I was going for in that game makes it to the next round.  Anyways, I have this friend that on facebook made a comment that made me think. It was this,

“ok people…are we really gonna count on USA to do any good in the World Cup?…its call the WORLD CUP not SUPERBOWL….stick with football ok?”

It made me think…. USA may not go all the way in the World Cup, but they tend to get pretty far in the competition. And superbowl??? Football??? It’s not like it’s known worldwide. The World Cup is WORLDWIDE, it’s where the best of the best in soccer go to see what country comes out as the best. It’s an honor to have the United States playing in the World Cup, one of the most watched, and televised events. Having the United States play in the World Cup means they’re one of the top countries. Yeah, there’s about what… anywhere from 20-30 countries playing? But there are about quadruple that amount of countries. So it’s good.

As I’m writing this, I’m watching a game…. Spain vs. Honduras. And this is where I will probably break some of my fellow Central Americans’ hearts, I’m definitely cheering for Spain. After all, they are blood. 🙂 Hahahaha. The game has just started and Spain is already ahead one-zero. Amazing. 🙂 They’ve got this game. 🙂

I’ve started reading a new book not so long ago. It’s not bad. “Fight Like A Girl” by Lisa Bevere is the book and from what I’ve read it’s a very empowering book. I’ve just started it and I already found probably one the best paragraphs in the book,

Paradise had a problem, and we were God’s answer. Think of it! You are somebody’s answer. You are something’s answer. There is a problem out there only your presence can solve. There is a broken and wounded heart to which only you can administer healing. You are a voice to the mute. Imagine the power in this change of perspective. Women are not men, but they are often the men’s answer.

I think at the end of this book, I’ll be recommending this book to all my friends. It’s definitely something to think about. In today’s society there’s a bad connotation about being a woman. Women, or acting like a woman, is seen as a negative thing. Not only in main stream culture, but even in the church. It’s sad to see that women don’t see why God created us, and how we have more power than we think. I can’t wait to see what God continues to reveal to me through this book. 🙂

This is it for now. I’m going to keep watching this game. 🙂 God bless and remember to thank Him for EVERYTHING you have. After all, He was the One that granted you to be blessed with it. And remember to just talk to your Heavenly Father, He wants to hear from you. He may know everything, but that doesn’t mean He doesn’t want to hear your voice telling Him what’s going on in your life and what your desires and dreams are. 🙂
